About Department


The ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING programme was started in 1984 with an intake capacity of 30 students. Now the department is known as ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERING (ETC) with intake 120 for B. Tech and 24 for M.Tech in Embedded Systems. Recently, the department is affiliated to Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University, Lonere.

The aim of the department is to provide technical education of the highest standard in the field of electronics and telecommunication. The Electronics & Telecommunication engineering branch includes the study of basic electronics, advanced electronics related to the ever-changing telecommunication field.

The strength of the department lies in highly qualified and experienced adequate faculty members.

The department has experienced staff members who are serving the college from last 15 to 23 years.

The department has excellent state of the art laboratories. The department also has Electronics workshop and large number of software tools for students to use.

Regular monitoring of academic activities is carried out to ensure the presence and learning outcomes of students.

The industry institution interaction is also maintained by arranging guest lectures, seminars, technical workshops and industrial visits. The students interact with industrial experts during industrial visit and seminars to bridge the gap between theory and practice.

The students are updated with state of the art technology, allowing our graduates to work at the forefront of all major areas of Electronics and Telecommunication field. Workshops on preparation for aptitude tests and interviews for placement in MNCs are conducted for final year students.

Apart from academic excellence, the department also encourages students to take part in various co-curricular and extra co-curricular activities. MIT provides a platform for students to develop organizational skills and to upgrade their technical competence.

The department conducts a national level technical symposium 'E-Nexplora'' annually for the benefit of the students. Also our students participate in a National level Robotic contest ROBOCON every year. Our students have received prizes at different state and national level competitions.

Many undergraduate students undergo training in industries and government sectors like BSNL. The students passed out from ETC department have been successfully placed in various private and public sector organizations at recognised positions. The alumni of our department are serving society all over the globe. The department also encourages the students to be entrepreneurs.

Head of Electronics and Tele-communication Engineering Department

It is my pleasure and honour to welcome you to the Department of Electronics and Tele-communication Engineering at MIT Aurangabad. Historically, academic focus in good institutions, particularly in respect of undergraduate education, has been the provision of solid foundation in science and engineering disciplines. This is just as it should be, as knowledge in general is at the core of all activities. The rapid industrialization in the last couple of decades or so, however, has made us aware that additional skills are often required in addition to knowledge for employability.


Through a nice blend of structured curriculum, contents beyond syllabus, minor and major projects, the Department endows students with the ability to apply knowledge of science, mathematics and engineering to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, provide leadership and technical expertise, and practice engineering with ethical and professional approaches and concern for society and environment. Since the type of the specific skills needed could change from industry to industry, and also from time to time, modern academic and technologies has been perpetuated through co-curricular activities to provide the generic set of skills.

We have undergraduate program i.e. B. E. in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering and postgraduate program i.e. M.E. (Embedded Systems). Several sponsored candidates from industries and research laboratories carry out their postgraduate studies in our department. Our faculty and students are involved in carrying out collaborative and interdisciplinary research. The excellent infrastructure, teaching faculty of the best kind ensuring quality education such as interaction among students through mentoring mechanism, dialogues with parents and staff, along with a Training and Placement Cell ensures a bright future to its students.

Department is striving hard towards the goal of providing innovative and quality education with high standard to achieve academic excellence. At department, 80% of teaching faculties are having teaching/industry experience of more than 5 years. Our graduates and post graduate students are either pursuing higher education or working in the various industries/organizations, which demonstrate their ability of technical skills, professional values and life long learning. This reflects the continual effort of our academic, research, technical and administrative staff in our daily tasks, and the quality of our students.

Objective of the Course


To prepare the students to -

Apply basic knowledge related to electronic circuits, embedded & communication systems and signal processing to solve engineering/societal problems.
Design, verify and validate electronically functional elements used in a variety of applications, with adequate skills to interpret and communicate the usability of the same.
Exercise good programming practices employing low or high level languages on appropriate platforms.
Use engineering & management concepts to analyze the specialisation and prototype electronic experiments / projects either independently or in teams.
Gain necessary background of basics, fundamental concepts and advanced concepts in the discipline.
Build successful careers in Electronics, Computers, Communication & IT Industry and other multi-disciplinary areas.

Mission

To educate future Engineers in Academia, Government, Industry and Entrepreneurial pursuit in the field of Electronics through a rigorous and structured curriculum. To develop the creative ability to solve problems individually and in teams, keeping human values in mind.

Program Outcomes(POs)

1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics,natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

9. Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

10. Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

PEO I: To provide necessary knowledge of fundamental concepts in Engineering as well as new trends in Electronics &Telelcommunication Engineering

Guidance to Students for Master of Engineering and Ph.D. Program:

        I guided 12 students and currently, I am research guide for 3 student’s perusing the Master of Engineering course.  Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad has recognized me as Research Guide in Electronics Engineering under the faculty of Engineering and Technology.

 

Current Research Interest: Robotics and Automation, Wireless Sensor Network, Image Processing.

The nature of duties handled during my academic tenure are as follows:

·         Handling 16-20 Hrs /week Theory and Practical classes for undergraduate and post-graduate students as per teaching load assigned.

·         Working as a research center head for Ph.D. students during 2015-2016.

·         Supervising student’s laboratory work, Seminar, dissertation, research projects, etc.

·         Functioning as Teacher guardian/mentor to the Under-graduate course students.

·         Acting as an examiner for University theory and practical examinations. Preparing academic reports and helping in administrative work at the department level.

·         Preparing the proposal, budget, laboratory set-up, etc.

During this tenure, I worked at administrative position (Head of Department - Electronics and Telecommunication engineering). The tenure is more than 3 years. I am involved to follow curricular of Institute/ University as per academic calendar, planning and developing department for accreditation (NBA/NAAC), University affiliation, research & development program, etc
