"I have keen interest in thermal engineering and working of different engines. To gain basic understanding and ample amount of knowledge in my area of interest, I was starving for a good mentor during my bachelors degree in mechanical engineering. I knew Dr. Lahane as a mechanical engineering department chair and a teacher who holds PhD in internal combustion engines but I came to know him closely when he was assigned to teach IC engines for my class. Because of his disciplined and systematic teaching, I completed my bachelors with final year project on a diesel engine under his guidance. The knowledge he shared with us can not be replaced with any other valuable things.

He has taught me not just the basics of mechanical engineering, but also on how to apply those to explore and push the boundaries of engineering through research. When it comes to learning something new especially in the field of open source technology, I strongly believe that hands-on training's and practice can be a catalyst. Hands-on training/practice can tune the overall learning process and it also helps in building the career. Lab exercises of Red Hat's certification courses helped me in building my career step by step from the scratch. By choosing practical oriented courses, we learn things thoroughly and we can implement them in our careers.

It has been wonderful 4 years at MIT. Things could have been different if MIT had not nurtured us in all respect, be it be developing a sense of leadership, to be innovative in our ideas, building our courage and sense to be in Corporate world, learning work ethics to name a few. MIT have always guided and encouraged their student to take a right path on their own way. Thank you MIT for all the support.
