The academic year normally has two terms, sessions or semesters. The academic year begins by June/July and ends by April every year. Term or Semester examinations are conducted at the end of each semester. Usually, the first term concludes by October / November followed by examinations (both theory and practical); and the second term starts by mid-January.
There are two major academic breaks during an academic year, each after every semester. The break post odd semester is shorter whereas break post even semester is a little longer, say a month or so.
Often, we motivate students of higher classes to undergo industrial training during the longer break.
